DR. ALFRED LOPEZ
Dr. Alfred Lopez was raised in Albuquerque, and attended Holy Cross College, the University of New Mexico, and the University of Missouri-Kansas City. After graduating dental school, he completed a surgical internship and a specialty program in periodontology at the VAC in Leavenworth Kansas and at the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Prior to private practice, he was the Program Director for Periodontal Training at the VA Center in Leavenworth, Kansas and an associate professor in Graduate Periodontics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He also spent two years at San Diego V.A. Hospital where he supervised the general practice residency program.
Dr. Lopez has been in periodontal practice in Albuquerque for 30 years. He has served as President of the Albuquerque District Dental Society and Treasurer of the New Mexico Dental Association. He has also served on the Council on Membership for the American Dental Association.
He and his wife, Dianne Lopez, a dental hygienist, have been very active in the community in Albuquerque. Dr. Lopez’s father, brother, and other family members have also practiced dentistry in New Mexico. They and their staff have participated in and strongly supported the Mission of Mercy, a program to provide dental care for homeless and disadvantaged.
